Lord Krishna teaches Arjuna about balance and moderation. Financially, this is akin to portfolio
diversification and periodic review to maintain a healthy risk-reward balance. This principle of “not
too much, not too little” is directly analogous to balanced asset allocation and disciplined rebalancing
rather than extreme risk-taking or complete avoidance of risk.
These verses stress regulation, thoughtfulness, and sattvic (pure) use of resources, which can be
explained as: earn ethically, spend with restraint, save systematically, and allocate part of wealth for
higher purposes (family security, emergencies, charity), rather than impulsive consumption or greedy
hoarding
